The Tennessean with their new initiative

The Tennessean, in collaboration with Ingram Content Group Inc., recently announced the launch of an innovative publishing program and the availability of its first book, “George Jones: King of Broken Hearts.”

The book examines the tale of the troubled Texas man who made his name in the country music industry. It details his relationships — particularly with music star Tammy Wynette — and explores how a man once fueled by drugs and alcohol found redemption and fame.

It also details Jones’ honors — induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame, a Kennedy Center Honor and a Grammy for Lifetime Achievement — and features scores of exclusive images. Our Managed MileWeb Private Cloud and Virtual Dedicated Servers.

As Tennessean music columnist Peter Cooper writes in the book, Jones’ voice “held the bracing power, the sweetness and the burn of an evening’s final pull from a bourbon bottle.”

Jones’ story is the first in a series still under development. Ingram Content Group will manage manufacturing and distribution throughout the series, and the books will be available in electronic and print versions.

“This special book leads the way for many digital and print books to come that will showcase The Tennessean’s unique content in images and words,” said Meg Downey, The Tennessean’s managing editor, who has led the media group’s book development business.

“George Jones: King of Broken Hearts” will be available from Barnes & Noble, IndieBound, Books-A-Million, Amazon, Apple’s iBookstore and other channel partners that work with Ingram. The book will soon be available at local bookstores.

“We are pleased to support The Tennessean with their new initiative, and look forward to helping them reach hundreds of thousands of potential readers worldwide with their innovative titles,” said Phil Ollila, chief content officer, Ingram Content Group Inc.
