WiredTree, a provider of managed Virtual Private Servers, dedicated servers, and Hybrid servers, announced that its VPS and Hybrid server hosting plans have received a significant resource upgrade. In addition to the recent inclusion of SSD acceleration for VPS and Hybrid server plans, clients will also receive an increase in guaranteed RAM, disk space, and bandwidth transfer. Because the upgrades are the most recent example of WiredTree’s commitment to providing the best available server hardware and resource allocation, they are happy to give all clients a performance boost without a matching price hike.
WiredTree managed virtual private servers will have their available storage and RAM increased during a comprehensive “Level Up” of VPS hosting plans. VPS1000 plans will become VPS1500 plans, with a 50% increase in memory to 1536 MB. Disk space will be increased to 100 GB of RAID–10 storage, and transfer allowances will increase to 4000 GB. All VPS plans will be given an equivalent increase in resource allocation. VPS clients will experience a significant boost to the performance of their servers as the RAM upgrades and the addition of SSD caching increases responsiveness.
“These improvements to our managed VPS and Hybrid server plans are part of WiredTree’s continuing commitment to provide cutting edge hosting performance,” says Zac Cogswell, President of WiredTree, “We regularly “level up” our hardware and server plans to ensure that our clients always have access to industry-leading performance and reliability.”
WiredTree managed Hybrid servers, which use enterprise-grade hardware to provide dedicated server performance at lower prices, will also benefit from upgraded memory and data transfer. Hybrid plans, which currently include 3 GB of guaranteed RAM, will be upgraded to 4 GB, and the Premium data transfer allocation will double to 10 GB. In addition to increased RAM and bandwidth transfer, managed Hybrid servers plans will also be upgraded to include SSD acceleration, making them an even better option for clients who need enterprise performance without the price tag of a dedicated server.
“Delivering the fastest and most reliable user experience is important to WiredTree’s hosting clients, so it’s important to us that we provide the technology to enable that. It’s part of our mission as a company to stay on the cutting edge of server technology and we’re happy to pass on the extra capacity to our clients at no extra cost.”
In my last column, I focused on local marketing, where I highlighted the effectiveness of hosting customer events. There are other types of events, however, windows dedicated server that have a major impact on solution provider businesses: networking events.
Networking events offer many advantages to your business. You can meet new sales prospects, get acquainted with influential vendor contacts, rub elbows with analysts, and make media connections. Full disclosure: I am featured on CRN's website as a result of attending CRN's networking events, where I met CRN's editors.
There are, as I'd categorize them, three types of networking events you can attend: vendor-based, industry-focused and topical.
Many major IT vendors hold partner events to build and continually align their sales channel to address changes in this dynamic industry. In addition, some vendors have specific councils dedicated to industry or market sectors.
In the case of HP, for example, I attend its annual Global Partner Conference, where the company shares its latest competitive advantages with partners and awards the best ones for their performance. I also am a member of HP's ESSN council, where we discuss the evolving needs of small, medium and large businesses. HP has other such councils for markets such as SMB and the government sector.
Participating in these councils puts you in a unique position to "pilot" vars the vendor has for it. Such programs can give you a tremendous leg up on the competition.
